Under the umbrella of SPREAD multidisciplinary and translational research programs are carried out.

Translational research of SPREAD aims to facilitate thinking across borders.
It promotes collaboration between local and international experts to exchange knowledge and skills and develop solutions in the fields of infectious disease prevention, care and cure.

The partners of SPREAD - Erasmus MC and Harbour hospital –  have a broad experience in prevention, care and cure programs, as well as in research and education programs with a special focus on exotic infections.

Rotterdam, the second biggest port in the world, has a major focus on international health care issues.
